The 1st Conference on the Development and Application of Digital Twin Technology for Aircraft and the Inauguration of the Digital Twin Division of the Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics

At May 21th, 2024, the first Aircraft Digital Twin Technology Development and Application Conference and the inaugural ceremony of the Digital Twin Branch of the Aviation Society were held in Shenyang. Academicians Chuliang Yan, Jinsong Leng, and Xu Guo from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, along with Jingsai Zhou, Executive Secretary-General of the Chinese Aviation Society, Minister Xiangyang An, and leaders and experts from major research institutes and renowned universities, attended the conference.

Zhixiao Sun, Director of the Digital Twin Branch and from Shenyang Institute, delivered the welcome speech. Chengbo Wang from Shenyang Institute presided over the meeting, and Liang Chen, as the branch representative, introduced the background of the establishment of the Digital Twin Branch. Leaders, including Jingsai Zhou, unveiled the plaque for the Digital Twin Branch and awarded certificates.

Academicians Jinsong Leng and Xu Guo presented reports, while the conference invited several Changjiang Scholars, Distinguished Young Scholars, and field experts to deliver presentations and engage in discussions on cutting-edge topics such as "Failure Theory and Prediction Methods for Advanced Composite Material Structures and Digital Twin Technology" and "Key Technologies of Aircraft Digital Twins."

Moving forward, the Digital Twin Branch will focus on promoting the establishment of journals in the aircraft digital twin field, facilitating the exchange of digital twin technologies, and providing a professional development platform for domestic research institutes, universities, and enterprises. It will drive the development of digital twin technology and industry in China’s aviation sector, promote progress in technologies, standards, and norms in the aircraft digital twin field, and provide comprehensive support for the development of digital twin technology in China.
